PAUL MOTTA
Chief Operating Officer
Paul D. Motta serves as Chief Operating Officer of Urban Retail Properties, LLC, overseeing all aspects of day-to-day corporate operations and client relations. With decades of experience in the retail real estate industry, Mr. Motta has held senior leadership roles in both management and leasing on a regional and national scale.
Since joining Urban Retail in 1992, Mr. Motta has played a key role in the company’s success. Most recently, he served as President of Leasing, directing leasing strategies across the company’s portfolio. He remains actively involved in leasing efforts, leveraging his extensive experience and strong relationships with leading retailers, restaurants, hospitality groups, entertainment operators, and financial institutions. His expertise include negotiating
with major department stores and big-box retailers, leasing and selling peripheral land, repositioning underperforming assets, and creating strategic redevelopment plans. He also plays a central role in cultivating new business and nurturing long-standing tenant relationships.
Throughout his career, Mr. Motta has been directly involved in developing, leasing, and managing numerous ground-up retail projects—including super-regional malls, lifestyle centers, and power centers—spanning from 190,000 to 1.3 million square feet. He has also been at the forefront of redevelopment and repositioning efforts for distressed assets nationwide.
Before joining Urban Retail, Mr. Motta gained experience as a Property Manager with Commercial Management Corporation and as a Project Manager at Lenk Construction Company. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida, is a licensed real estate professional in Florida, and is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
